Are
you interested in a Career in the
MUSIC INDUSTRY?
|
|
But are you serious enough to work towards it? |
|
If you're a singer, songwriter,
musician, band, music producer, etc. and you think the way to
success is to be "discovered", that's like buying a lottery
ticket and just "hoping". I personally would never trust
my life to those kinds of odds and neither should anyone else.
If you really
want musical success bad enough, you have to be smart enough to
learn how the music industry game works.
So how does one go about achieving success in the music
business? First, you must learn everything you can about
the music industry. There are hundreds of great music
business books out there, ranging from "How to Get a Record
Deal", to "How to Be a Successful Songwriter". There are
music books about music contracts, record company structure,
submitting your demo, how to get signed, music production,
booking your band, making money making music, songwriting,
selling your own CD, landing a music publishing deal, starting a
record label and hundreds more.
Each of these books will give you a blueprint for how to
succeed within that specific area, and teach you a whole lot
more about the music business in general. Most of these
music books are also fun to read. This IS the music
industry and it IS exciting and "spicy".
Here's where to start: We've put together a small list
of books that are very useful to anyone sincerely trying to
break into the music business. Like anything else, don't
expect any one book to teach you EVERYTHING you need to know!
But each book you read should teach you about that subject until
you have a thorough understanding of how things operate within
this music industry. And knowledge is potential power.
(it's what you do with the knowledge that makes you powerful)
Check out our list and start educating yourself. Or
click on any book to be taken to the website where you can
search for any music related titles you like. Good
luck and let us know how it turns out.
